The "Pelagian"
Dive Yacht

The world-renowned Pelagian yacht is now under Wakatobi ownership and management. With its many years of stellar performance around the world this newly renovated vessel now offers two prime diving areas in Indonesia: the very popular Wakatobi region as well as the true and tested Komodo Marine Park.

With the Pelagian now under the Wakatobi group's umbrella her sought-after luxury and spaciousness is coupled with the quality and assurance of one of Indonesia's most reputable dive operations.

For you, Pelagian's new home means offering new and exciting diving opportunities in the extended Wakatobi region, the Banda Sea and Komodo. The much-researched Wakatobi area is home to some of the most prolific coral reefs in all of Indonesia and the Komodo park offers abundant marine life, dangerous dragons and more...

The Pelagian is now able to offer these exciting cruises, giving divers a rare opportunity to experience an incredible diversity of marine life not often seen because of the location's remote nature and difficult travel logistics. If you want days on end of incredible reefs with an abundance of unique critters -- all while cruising, dining and lounging in total comfort, the Pelagian is your choice.

Boat Specifications:

The Pelagian was built at the Batservice Verft A/S Shipyard in Mandal,
Norway, as an elegant world-ranging motor yacht. Her construction was to Lloyd's +100A1 yacht and +LMC classification, and she was stoutly built to travel the world's oceans in comfort and safety. Pelagian cruises at 9 knots and she has a range of over 8,000 nautical miles! Onboard water-makers and over 20 tons of fresh water in the tanks mean that we don't need to worry about having an extra shower or rinsing our cameras one more time!

Measuring 35 meters (115 feet) overall in length, her beam is 7.5 meters (24 feet) and her draft is 3.4 meters (11 feet). At 245 metric tons, she has the size and heft to provide us with a secure base for our exploration of the aquatic world. The Pelagian is air conditioned throughout and offers en-suite accommodation (private bathroom) in six cabins, ranging from the standard cabins up to the master suite.

The Pelagian's two custom-made 18ft rigid hull inflatable (RIB) dive tenders are equipped with double 60HP outboard engines, tank racks and secure stainless steel ladders (no need to enter the boat like a stranded seal:). These tenders are comfortable and very easy to enter and exit. Diving is mainly done off the tenders as they allow divers to go directly to the dive sites more accurately than the main ship. Tanks are quickly filled using whips from the Pelagian so there's no need to take the gear off the tenders until the end of the cruise. Our friendly, camera-aware crew is always ready to lend a hand.

This is probably the largest live aboard cabin available in the
region today. The Master Suite # 1 is located at the center of the boat in front of the kitchen and the camera room on level with the main saloon. This means that there's no staircase to ascend / descend to access it. It's right on the main deck. The ensuite bathroom is spacious and offers a separate shower cabin, a long vanity with double mirrors and a WC. The bathroom is very bright and airy. The cabin has one king size bed with ample space for two. It also has a full cabin length shelf on the port side for cameras, gear etc. A sofa and lounge chair is located right next to the entertainment center that has a stereo, DVD player and a good-sized TV. Additionally there's a separate little beauty room in the front of the cabin - excellent for when she wants to attend to herself while he's having a shower;) This cabin has by far the best floor space, amenities and a huge spring bed.

Cabin # 2, the Superlux cabin is sternmost located cabin and is
accessed by its own staircase directly from the main saloon. It has two beds,
one wide enough for two people, the other for one person. In-between the
bunks (that are laid out in a V) there's a lowered "loveseat", excellent for reading and lounging about. This cabin also has a nicely sized bathroom and good floor space. In fact, it's many guests' favorite cabin and it's the quietest
cabin of them all.

DeLux: Cabin # 3 and 5 are located just forward of the main saloon down
a flight of stairs. They are on port and starboard side respectively and as they are equipped with two beds positioned length-wise with storage shelves
in-between the cabins are very long and, due to many port lights, bright and
airy. One bed has space for two persons while the other comfortably sleeps one. Ensuite bathroom of course:)

Standard Cabin # 6 is on the starboard side of the boat directly in front
of # 5 but is accessed from a separate staircase by the camera room. It has two beds that are both best suited for a single person. One bed looks directly out the porthole above the waterline and it's a pleasure lying there reading with a nice view of the ocean in close proximity. Sized perfectly fine for two persons. Not big but also not small, it's just nice and has of course it's own

Standard Cabine # 4 is centrally located in-between 3 and 5. It is the smallest cabin of the boat but also the one with the least light (good for those that like the room to be very dark at night) and movement (good for those sensitive to the movements of the ocean). It has an ensuite bathroom and two beds on top of each other. Not very spacious but perfectly fine for people who are reasonably fit and that only need a place to sleep at night (and not a lot of lounge space, which anyway is available upstairs).
